Auckland's vibrant waterfront is home to the New Zealand National Maritime Museum, one of the finest in the world. A visit here promises a broad overview of New Zealand rich maritime heritage. As our Maori name, Te Huiteanaui-A-Tangaroa (holder of the treasures of Tangaroa - of the Sea God) suggests, this museum stores many of New Zealand's treasures.

The displays are original from boats to life size exhibits and include an amazing collection of models and artefacts. As an island nation New Zealand has an exceptional relationship with the sea. The maritime heritage is rich with tales of exploration, discovery, design and success.
