View a large range of birds including parrots, finches, pheasants, lovebirds and other well-known and rare breeds in the many aviaries. Free wandering birds including pigeons, fowl, ducks, guinea fowl and peacocks are also a common sight. Visit the many farm animals including sheep, cows, deer, donkeys, pigs and ponies on the gentle farm walks. Some more exotic animals such as alpaca, emus, ostriches, kune kune pigs are also on the property. Most of the birds and animals are able to be hand fed with food that can be purchased from the office.

There is plenty more excitement at Ashley Park with an 18-hole mini golf course, swimming pool, pony rides, tennis, petanque, farm airstrip, farm attractions and farm tours. Try your hand at seasonal farm activities like sheep shearing and haymaking. Wainui Beach is only 10km by road offering fishing, swimming and surfing for visitors.
