Experience the tidal waters of Wanganui Inlet with access into the rainforest of Kahurangi National Park, by sea kayak. Kayaks may be rented from The Innlet who provide double "sit ons" and "sit in" singles for those with a little more experience.

The nearby rainforest trips are tidal, requiring a departure of 2.5 hours before high tide. Lake Otuhi, one hour's scenic drive south, can be explored at any time.

These trips are suitable for beginners and wonderful for plant lovers who enjoy the rich vegetation. The 'Heads' trip to Wanganui entrance is very weather dependent and requires stamina. You also have the opportunity for extensive beach walks, cave swims and rock scrambling. It is advised to have an experienced kayaker with you on this trip.
