Mount Cook Salmon, the highest salmon farm in the world! The pioneering fresh water hydro canal salmon farm is fed directly from mountain lakes, fed in turn by glaciers and alpine rain. There is only alpine wilderness between the salmon farm and the mountains. Producing both Sockeye and Chinook salmon for domestic and export markets, fresh and smoked fish are also for sale.

Take a guide tour, feed the fish, lunch in the picnic area or hike the walking track to obtain brilliant views of Aoraki Mt Cook, the Southern Alps and Lake Pukaki.

Getting There: From Christchurch and points North on the South Island of New Zealand take State Highway 1 (South) to SH79 into Geradline. Continue through Geraldine and take SH8 until reaching the sign-posted route from SH 8 down the Canal road. From Points South - Queenstown take SH8 North. Dunedin take SH1 North to Oamaru then SH83 to Omarama and SH8 to Twizel.
