Paua World

Paua World is a unique all-weather attraction conveniently situated just north of Carterton township in the beautiful rural Wairarapa. Take a free factory tour to see Paua, Pink Mussel & Mother of Pearl shells being crafted, accompanied by an informative video on the life of the Paua. Amazing murals of the Wairarapa Coast, both above & below the waterline adorn the walls.

Observe the fascinating salt-water aquarium with live Paua, Seahorses, Rock cod and other sea life, while enjoying complimentary tea or coffee amongst a mural of "underwater scenery" Choose from a wide range of exquisite quality jewellery, gifts, ornaments and NZ Souvenirs in the treasure trove of the shop. A scenic picnic area is provided. Toilet facilities cater for baby-changing and have wheelchair access. Group tours are welcome and refreshments can be provided by arrangement. Snacks are available in the tea-rooms.
