Woollaston Estates produce Pinot Noir, Pinot Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling in a unique gravity-fed, four-level winery built into the hillside with a 'living roof' of soil and vegetation.
Varieties and clones are carefully matched to their vineyards' sites and soils: Pinot Noir & Pinot Gris on the Moutere clays, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling from the gravels of the Waimea Plains of Nelson.
The Cellar Door has a picnic lawn with sweeping vineyard, mountain and sea views. There is a small art gallery which features works by Toss Woollaston and other contemporary New Zealand artists.
The cellar door is open for tastings and sales in January and February, 7 days from 11am - 4.30pm, and at other times by appointment.
