Orana Wildlife Park

Set on 80 hectares, New Zealand's only open range zoo Orana Park is unique and exciting offering visitors a close up to endangered animals. Hand feed giraffes, meet rhino's face-to-face, experience the awesome lion encounter and visit the NZ native collection featuring kiwi, stunning geckos and a range of extensive birds. The Farmyard also allows visitors to pet a selection of friendly domestic animals.

Take a guided tour aboard the Safari Shuttle and enjoy the drivers' commentary or alternatively join a walkabout tour of the grounds. Animal feeds occur throughout the day!

You can experience the feeding of the magnificent Rothschild giraffe, see cheetahs in full chase, feed the lions, enjoy the antics of monkeys, lemurs, porcupines and servals, and be amazed at the African Plains exhibit featuring white rhino and zebra. Be sure not to miss out on New Zealand's own symbol, the kiwi in the nocturnal house, as well as other native birds and the country's rare reptile, the tuatara.
