Tikorangi The Jury Garden is steeped in history and is accredited as a garden of national significance. Its history dates back to 1880 and remains one of the few inter-generational private gardens in New Zealand. The homestead stands majestically amid the gardens and is the third on the property and home to fourth and fifth generation Jury's.
The garden is now in the capable hands of Mark and Abbie Jury, having previously been the home of plant breeder, Felix Jury. The plant breeding programme continues and the garden is famed for its magnolias and other woody plants.
Tikorangi is made up of diverse environments to maintain optimum growing conditions for each and every plant. They include a sunny rockery, sunken garden, woodlands and park. The collection ranges from tropical to sub alpine with plants in flower twelve months of the year, with the main focus on sub tropical plants.
