For an adventurous day out, see the team at Canyonz Ltd. They operate canyoning tours and day trips in the Waitakere Ranges, just 40 minutes from Auckland city.

Abseil and rappel down awesome waterfalls, jump of cliffs into deep crystal-clear pools and slide down polished rock chutes in a prehistoric subtropical environment.

Canyonz Ltd. cater for beginners, suplly all equipment and can provide quality training. The tours of Blue Canyon have an instructor/client ratio of 1:6, trips to Sleeping God have a minimum of two guides.

Blue Canyon has more jumps, waterslides and abseils than any other NZ river, and is suitable for all experience levels (round trip from Auckland is 8 hours). Sleeping God Canyon is more of a challenge: the jumps are higher, the abseils more difficult, and the day is longer (12 hours).

Groups can book a day trip to either Blue or Sleeping God canyons, or individuals and small groups can join another group. Contact Canyonz early to arrange this.
