Take a jet boat ride on the mighty Kawarau River. Speed through the heart of one of New Zealand's most historic gold mining regions. The custom designed jet boats and highly trained drivers will take you on an unforgettable ride down through the Kawarau Gorge. The duration of the trip is 40 minutes and includes an extensive commentary on the history of the area and other points of interest.

From the base you'll head south down the river into the shallow waters of the Bannockburn arm. This section has been accessible only by jet boat since the construction of the Clyde dam and the subsequent creation of the lake Dunstan in 1989.

The trip then takes you up the river and into the spectacular Kawarau Gorge. As the river narrows the rapids begin to form, stopping at the foot of the mighty Staircase Rapid before returning down river to Goldfields Jet base, finishing with some exciting manoeuvres including a 360-degree spin.
