The Formosa Golf Resort has a fantastic range of facilities on 440 acres, 45 minutes south-east of Auckland. The resort boasts the Sir Bob Charles designed 18-hole golf course and driving range, an extensive sports complex and gym, and luxury villa accommodation.
Accommodation at the resort is in villas nestled in subtropical gardens by the golf course. Each cottage has a super-king bed, double wash basins and showers, as well as a spabath. The villas have views over the course, the hauraki Gulf and surrounding farmland.
Formosa golf course was opened in 1998, hosting the New Zealand Golf Open the same year. Driving range is open 8am - 6pm seven days a week. The course has encompassing views of the Hauraki Gulf and lush farmland from its cliff top and coastal fairways. The course is adorned with hundreds of Pohutukawa trees and palms; the result is picturesque.
The huge sports complex caters for a wige range of leisure activities with a heated, indoor swimming pool, spa and sauna fully equipped Gymnasium, two indoor international standard tennis courts and a squash court. Discounts for golf club members and resort guests, and instructors can be arranged also.
