Farewell Spit Eco Tours offer a range of nature tours to the world famous Farewell Spit, Gannet Colony, Wader Watch, Cape Farewell and many other stunning locations in Golden Bay, Nelson, New Zealand.
Farewell Spit has been a sanctuary since the 1930's and provides home for over 90 species of bird, most importantly the waders. Bar tailed godwits, knots, curlews, whimbrels and turnstones fly 12,000km every Northern Hemisphere autumn, to spend the summer in the south.
See them all from the wide windows the comfortable Eco Bus. The Farewell Spit Eco Tours fleet is maintained to an exacting standard, refurbishment of the interiors is ongoing for passenger comfort and a hi-tech sound system ensures you won't miss a word of the commentary.
Tours include visits of Wader feeding grounds on the intertidal plain, a historic Lighthouse, a Gannet Colony at the end of the earth and Cape Farewell, the most Northern point on the South Island.
