Seahorse World Aquarium

Seahorse World Aquarium is an invaluable resource, with one of the largest collections of New Zealand marine life on display.

Did you know that the New Zealand seahorse is the biggest in the world with the male seahorse giving birth to up to 421 babies at a time? Seahorse World Aquarium has a collection of hundreds of seahorses, and many other marine animals including a preserved 6 metre giant squid (leviathan of the deep and never seen alive), sharks, crayfish, rays, octopus, commercial species, rocky shore display, life size Orca and Hectors dolphin models, touch pool, magnificent collection of marine fossils, video and reading area and many highly informative wall displays.

There are four free guided tours of the Aquarium daily. The knowledgeable friendly staff are happy to tell you all the about the amazing New Zealand Pot-Bellied Seahorse and the many other cool marine creatures that live in the Marlbourough Sounds living reefs.
