Altura Horse Treks, Gardens & Wildlife Park

Altura Park is 4kms from Waitomo with an award winning 5-acre country garden, which has ponds, waterfalls and both common and unusual plants.

The park also offers 3 different horse treks, which range from half an hour to over two hours long.

Altura Park's garden was originally established in the 1960s with a major upgrade starting in 1996. The picturesque surroundings and extensive views north to the Waikato has grown into a place people love to relax.

The garden is becoming popular for all sorts of celebrations and the occasional parrot flies overhead while people are enjoying lunch in the picnic grounds.
