Otago Karate Dunedin

Otago Karate is a Dunedin based club, devoted to spreading karate throughout the Otago region.

We practice the traditional style of Okinawan GoJu Ryu and are proud to be affiliated with the New Zealand Okinawa GoJu Ryu Karate Association.

The traditional training is based on centuries old techniques that are designed to build confidence, self discipline, and practical self-defence skills.

We also have many students that enjoy competing in the sports side of karate, having considerable success at a Regional and National level.

We welcome students from 5 years old and up. Karate is one of the few activities where the entire family can participate together and the training environment is very family orientated.
