The Carriage House is a self-contained Two Bedroom Cottage for 2-4 guests on waterfront farm 3 hrs from Auckland 40 mins flight. Rental Cars available. The cottage has 2 ensuite bedrooms, a modern self-catering kitchen, large Living Dining Room, Laundry, Study with wireless broadband and off-street parking.

The Carriage House is situated on 25 acre horse breeding Farm, only 2 km from Kerikeri shops, restaurants and the Historic First Settlement. Two Kingsize beds- one converts to 2 large singles. Golf, Sailing, Boat Trips and Beaches are all available. 4 good golf courses at KAURI CLIFFS, CARRINGTON WAITANGI and KERIKERI. At Paihia and Opua you have Boat Trips, Sailing and Deep Sea Fishing, all nearby. Bowls, Tennis, Flying, Swimming and Theatre too.

Your self contained accommodation offers privacy yet your Hosts are available to advise on the best places to go and what is interesting to see in the Bay of Islands. Your Cottage in on a Waterfront Horsebreeding Farm in a quiet location only 5mins from the Historic Kerikeri first settlement by missionaries. THE CARRIAGE HOUSE has a collection of Vintage Horsedrawn Vehicles. You look over grazing SHIRE and CLYDESDALE Horses which are still in daily use pulling wagons. The Grey Shire Horses formerly worked for the LION BREWERY. They are Very large and very rare. At the end of the garden you can walk to our private JETTY. Enjoy the reflections of moored yachts. If you bring your BOAT or KAYAK you can keep it on the jetty overnight and go exploring the Bay of Islands.
Local Area
There are 4 TRUST HOUSES open to visitors at Kerikeri, Waimate North and Russell. At the Waitangi Treaty House you learn the history of the signing of a Treaty between the Maori tribes and the British. Pituresque Russell was a seaport used by Whalers and also the first capitol of New Zealand. Kerikeri and Waimate North mission houses are furnished and show how people lived in early New Zealand. The Stone Store and Kemp House are two of the oldest buildings in N.Z. Visit the giant KAURI TREES now protected and museum depicting GUMDIGGERS and the removal of enormous logs by Bullocks and loading on ships for export. Kauri is a furniture timber like pine with no knots
