Blue Oyster Art Project Space was established in 1999 by the Blue Oyster Arts Trust to provide a contemporary art project space that encourages experimental and innovative art projects. The space presents a diverse range of artists and practices making curatorial decisions based on the depth and quality of the project regardless of career stage. They support projects that make connections between the arts and other aspects of social issues and politics. As a non-profit organization all of whom are practicing artists, they prioritise new work that is not commercially orientated. Their aim is to broaden the interest and understanding of contemporary arts by providing a forum for discussion and debate regarding contemporary art issues.
