NZ Native Driftwood Sculptures is a passion of Paddy Cooper an artist who does sculptures and carvings in New Zealand native timber using driftwood. He lives in a little place called Bay View just north of Napier, with the beach out the front, and wetlands and ancient Maori pa sites behind.
Paddy has been carving driftwood sculptures for a few years and loves sculpting because he is able to use stunning New Zealand heart native timbers and burr wood, without having to harm living trees or the environment. With great respect to Maori art and spirituality, some of the carvings also have Maori influences.
Paddy also make bowls and coffee tables.
His work is exhibited at a number of galleries around NZ, and has been bought by collectors from around the world..
