Manganui Ski Area

Manganui Ski Area is a club field, located 45 minutes drive from New Plymouth, on Mt Taranaki. Run by the Stratford Mountain Club, Manganui Ski Area offers a friendly club atmosphere and some great uncrowded runs.

There are three lifts in operation on the mountain - the Learners Rope Tow, the T-Bar, and the Top Tow. The learners area is a gentle slope, great for absolute beginners. The T-Bar offers open runs and an uncrowded area for beginners. The Top Tows are steep and best suited to experts or experienced intermediate skiers. The field is 5% Beginner, 35% Intermediate and 65% Advanced

Manganui Ski Area's season runs early June to late October (depending on snow fall), with the field open 9.30am to 4pm.

Access is via a 16km sealed access road to car park, followed by a 20 minute walk from the car park to the ski area. There is a goods lift half-way for gear. Chains should be carried.
