The Pasifika Festival held in Western Springs Park, Auckland, is the largest community event in the South Pacific. A celebration of Polynesian culture, ten Pacific Islands are represented at the event - Aotearoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Tahiti, Tokelau, Tonga and Tuvalu.
Each Pacific Island has a village at the festival, offering an insight into their traditional food, arts, cultural performance, crafts and more. Many of the villages also have activities to participate in - such as flax weaving and lei making.
With over 300 Pacific flavoured food, craft and information stalls at the festival, it's a celebration of Polynesian culture that should not be missed.
