Whanganui Artists Open Studios

The Whanganui Artist open Studios event is rolling around on the 29/30 March & 5/6 April 2008. On wed 26th March, there is a powhiri at the Sarjeant Gallery, a first for this event.

There are six workshops available to the public free of charge throughout the weekends and the week in between - glass, jewellery, printmaking, painting, candle making & permaculture design. We also have Whanganui's very own published author/illustrator Sally Wright on board the waka, to read her projected stories inside the Sarjeant Gallery, and Manawa Ora Maaori collective will be exhibiting In the Alexander library with harakeke weaving workshops/demo's through out the week.

With 51 diverse exhibitors, this looks to be an excellent event for 2008!!
