Whangarei Airport, 10 minutes drive from Whangarei City Centre on Handforth Street, is the gateway to Northland and the Bay of Islands.

The national carrier Air New Zealand have daily scheduled flights to and from Whangarei . You will also find a number of charter flights and small airlines operating out of the airport, including Great Barrier Island Airlines, Mountain Air, Skywork Helicopters, and Quantum Aviation.

Whangarei Airport has a modern, air conditioned terminal, with a café and toilet facilities. There is also car parking and a drop off zone located directly outside the departures entrance.
