50km from Gisborne you will find Rere Falls - a very popular natural attraction. The Falls aren't just popular for their beauty - the constant torrent of running water at the base has created a natural waterslide, tumbling 60 metres downstream at high speed

Part of the Wharekopae River, Rere Falls is located approximately 50 km from Gisborne on Wharekopae Road, heading towards the Eastwoodhill Arboretum.

Voted number 86 in the "AA Top 101 Must Do's" in New Zealand, seasoned Rere Falls rock sliders recommend a rubber mat, boogie board or wetsuit for the journey downstream - but don't mistake the Falls themselves for the rock slide!

Also located close to the Falls are a picnic area and swimming hole - making it a great location for a day out.
