Queenstown, originally settled as a sheep farming, rural village. A shearer discovered gold in 1862 and the rest is history! Now the 'Adventure Capital' of the world, Queenstown has evolved into the 'Resort Town' of New Zealand.
There is a huge choice of chic cafes, restaurants and bars in Queenstown. If you have managed to keep yourself in one piece after sampling some Queenstown action, then the entertainment and nightlife might be the reason you find it tough getting out of bed the next morning! Big nightlife for a small town covering all ages and tastes.
If natural, breathtaking beauty is not enough to get the adrenaline pumping then try some of the local pastimes such as: AJ Hackett’s Bunjee Jump, Jetboating on the Shotover River, White water rafting, Scenic golf courses, River surfing, white water sledging & canyoning, Paragliding and parachuting or experience the World class snow skiing at The Remarkables or Coronet Peak.
Get high on the Skyline Gondola, close to the town centre (magnificent views from the top), Take The Luge back down, situated at the top of the gondola, Get back to nature at the Kiwi & Birdlife Park or try some Aerial sightseeing.Photos
