The Hawke's Bay region is blessed with a sunny climate, black sand beaches, sheltered coastal plains and long-established vineyards. Napier, the major city, has a large number of art deco buildings. The area is renowned for its fine chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon and has more than 30 vineyards open to the public for wine tasting. There is also plenty of adventure - visiting Cape Kidnappers' gannet colony, rafting in the Mohaka River, horse trekking, hunting and trout fishing.

If you have a navman there are a lot of speed limits that are wrong and is also missing a highway and quite a few roads that have been built in the last 3 years , even though they say its up to date its not and carnet get them to do anything about it
